Our Careteam

Practice Manager
Jenn first realized that she wanted to work with animals while she was completing a co-operative career placement at an advertising company. The staff there would constantly bring their own dogs to the office, and Jenn found she had more interest in walking her coworkers’ dogs than helping to put together advertising campaigns! She knew she had to switch careers as soon as possible. Jenn hasn’t looked back since, and is proud to now serve as Waterdown Animal Hospital’s Practice Manager.

Jenn was born and raised in Toronto, and it was there that she first secured a part-time job in a small vet clinic. She continued to work there throughout high school and during her collegiate studies in animal science. After graduating, Jenn launched her career at a referral practice, gaining invaluable experience and lifelong friendships. She took an interest in the human-animal bond, and took a course in New York through the Association for Pet Loss and Bereavement, where she studied compassion fatigue and even became a certified Pet Loss and Bereavement Counselor!

Since that time, Jenn has worn many hats within the field of veterinary medicine—Claims Adjuster, Pet Funeral Director, Animal Care Attendant, and Pet Nutrition Advocate are just a few examples. She was thrilled to join the Waterdown Animal Hospital team in June of 2019 as Practice Manager, and couldn’t be happier to work in a family-centered environment with a team of pet-lovers just like herself.

When she’s not at work, Jenn can be found practicing yoga, spending time in nature, and gardening. She and her husband, Nelson, are proud parents to two wonderful boys, Xavier and Phoenix, and they also share their home with several pets. The family has three dogs: Rambo, an attention-loving Puggle; Izz the Yorkie, who loves looking pretty for treats; and the newest addition, a rescued Shih Tzu/Terrier mix named Joe who has fit right in alongside his new brother and sister.
Client Care Specialist
Kim has wanted to help animals in need her entire life, but she never considered the path of veterinary medicine. After graduating with a degree in communications, she came across an opening here at Waterdown Animal Hospital and had a realization: she could use her passion for communicating with others to better the lives of pets at the same time! Now, Kim is a proud member of the clinic’s Customer Service Representative team.

Kim grew up in Burlington, Ontario in a family of six, and now lives in Hamilton. She became a member of the Waterdown Animal Hospital team in April of 2019, and couldn’t be happier to launch her journey in veterinary care right here at the clinic. Kim’s favorite part of the job is connecting one-on-one with each and every visitor who enters the hospital doors—two- and four-legged alike.

When she’s not here at the hospital, Kim likes venturing outdoors for long hikes and spending quality time with her rambunctious cat, Todd.
Registered Veterinary Technician
Debbie grew up just outside of Toronto, where her family always kept Huskies. She was very young when she first experienced the true love and companionship of our animal friends, and she always knew that she would love to give something back. Debbie’s passion simply never quit. Now, she helps pets and their owners daily as a Registered Veterinary Technician!

Debbie calls herself a “lifer” in the veterinary profession—she started knocking on clinic doors to ask about volunteering as soon as she was old enough to hold down a job. She secured her first position in a neighbourhood pet hospital at the age of 18, and has been working in the animal care field ever since. Debbie attended Technician school and became registered, and has since worked in everything from referral hospitals to emergency departments. She finds that she’s happiest in family clinic care, though, and that’s why she was happy to join the Waterdown Animal Hospital team.

Medically, Debbie enjoys everything from anesthesia and critical-care nursing to nutritional counseling and long-term care. Most of all, she loves empowering pet owners to be the best possible parents they can be—nothing beats knowing that she’s made a lasting impact.

Outside of her interests in veterinary medicine, Debbie enjoys rock climbing with her husband, hula hooping, and spending time with her family at home. She lives with her husband, daughter, stepson, and a cuddly grey tabby cat named Medea.
